CCFC celebrate their first win of the season Saturday night

New Orleans, LA (June 6th, 2022) – Coming into this contest CCFC were coming off their worst defeat in club history suffering an 8-0 loss on the road in Hattiesburg last weekend. A much needed result was needed as they faced off vs. Mobile United at home Saturday evening.

A beautiful evening in New Orleans set the tone for the home team as they put on a great display for CCFC supporters. The match started in favor of the boys in blue as they were able to find comfort in maintaining possession early. The first opportunity came in the 8th minute when Cristian Canales beat his defender to find a 1v1 with the keeper, but great technique shown from the Mobile keeper pushed Canales’ shot wide for a corner. Much of the first half would be in favor of Crescent City with the Mobile keeper displaying his talents. Just before the half, Cristian Canales would find himself in another 1v1 scenario and this time finding the back of the net, putting CCFC up 1-0.

The second half saw a bit more fight coming from the young Mobile squad with one of their few chances testing keeper, Mason Baglio, came in the 53rd minute. CCFC came very close to finding the back of the net for a second time when Marcelo Carias found an open goal but soared it high, keeping the score at 1-0. The remaining minutes of the second half would be in favor of CCFC as they closed out the game and celebrated it’s first win of the 2022 campaign.
